Nonlocal origin and correlations in the Johnson noise
at nonuniform temperatures (open access)

Since Nyquist’s days, it is implicitly assumed that Johnson’s noise is due to thermal agitation at the same place where this noise is felt. This paper argues that thermal agitation everywhere in the circuit generates signals that are carried by electromagnetic interaction and influence the noise felt everywhere else. You can be the first to perform a convincing experiment.
